" Talented, yet highly annoying. "   - Jeff Clark, Stomp and Stammer Magazine

This quotation should give you the hint: that one of Atlanta’s most creative and innovative songwriters, Damian Cartier, is always giving his fans the unexpected.  With a blend of jazz and his own splash of humor, Cartier's original songs are in a league of their own.   Originally from Newport, Rhode Island, it is no surprise that, while living there, he performed at the Newport Jazz Festival, and built quite an impressive list of opening act credits, including sharing the stage with Phish, G-Love, the Wailers, Dizzy Gillespie, Maynard Ferguson, and Spyrogyra.  In January of 1998, Damian moved to Atlanta, Georgia and began putting together “his my newt orchestra.”  In 2003, they released their first CD entitled, Attention! Damian Disorder” which quickly earned them  regional accolades from the savviest of music fans, selling over 1000 copies in just a few months.  His latest album is receiving the even more attention:   “Damian really was a breath of fresh air for us,” stated Ed Pucko, Director of Licensing at Atlanta’s famous Lowery Music Group. “The totally out-of-the-box arrangements of his originals is what kept us entertained through every track,” states Ed Pucko, Director of Licensing, the Lowery Group.  “And his excellent musicianship is the icing on the cake.”
