Here is an incredibly brilliant, compassionate and accomplished man masquerading as an irreverent Peter Pan. Ask a simple question? Get a ridiculous answer. You can’t spend more than five minutes in his company without laughing hysterically, your whole life passing before your eyes as you wonder what your own eulogy will inevitably be if you die of laughter. Then you go to lunch at his suggested restaurants (always the best in town), drive back to his recording studio, record your own originals songs with the help of his gifted musicianship and production credentials, only to be put to shame when he plays his own music for you: songs that are often hilarious, some profound, some spiritual, and all of them memorable and as good as any Nashville writer you’ll ever hear. Ask if he has a song about a chicken, the answer will be yes. In fact, name a subject, and the man has written a song about it, or he will take the next ten minutes to get it done. The author of literally hundreds of songs, with approximately fifty of them recorded by as many artists, Wil has won too many awards to list. He is a regularly featured songwriter at Nashville’s famous Bluebird Café and Atlanta’s own top songwriter venues, including the Swallow at the Hollow and Eddie’s Attic. Wil resides in Marietta, Georgia with his ten guitars, wife Karla, and beautiful daughter Amelia, his Akita, Sophie, and his cat of questionable origin, Sebastian.
Wil’s song, “Meeeee” is a GOC/Lowery favorite:
